With an elegant atmosphere set in a former church sanctuary, Freemason Abbey is ideal for the night before “The Big Day.” Over the years, The Abbey has become a popular spot for rehearsal dinners in downtown Norfolk because we handle the stress …the bride just wears the dress.

Group reservations are taken for lunch or dinner parties up to 36 people. Your guests will be seated together and due to the fact that Freemason Abbey does not have any private dining rooms, the rest of the restaurant will be open to the public. Parties of 11 or more MUST be able to climb a full flight of stairs, as the second floor dining space is the only area to seat that many people with social distancing Covid-19 restrictions.

For parties of 20 or more guests, we require a deposit of $100.00 and a signed Agreement Form to secure your reservation. For parties of 11-19 guests, we require a $50 deposit and a signed Agreement Form to secure your reservation.

For your convenience, we have pre-set Group Menus that offer a variety of entrées from which your guests can select. These menus are designed for value, as well as well-timed execution from our kitchen. The prices are per person. The Lunch Group menu includes the entrée and a soft beverage. Our Dinner Group menu also includes a salad and dessert.

Also, to simplify things for you, we do not need to know the menu selections in advance. We will place a menu in front of your guests that will have the selections with a description of each menu item.

We are sorry but we do not allow any personal food or beverage items to be brought into the restaurant. This includes all celebration desserts and cakes.

Parties of 20 or more will be on one check.

Be advised that Freemason Abbey has very limited space for standing or mingling. We require groups to be seated in the dining room at their tables and receive service from their servers. Groups are not allowed to stand or linger in walk-ways.

We allow guests to arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to their reservation to decorate the space. We do NOT allow the following decorations: linens, tablecloths, table runners, seat covers, candles, glitter or confetti.
