With an elegant atmosphere set in a former church sanctuary, Freemason Abbey is ideal for the night before “The Big Day.” Over the years, The Abbey has become a popular spot for rehearsal dinners in downtown Norfolk because we handle the stress …the bride just wears the dress.

Group reservations are taken for lunch or dinner parties up to 50 people. Your guests will be seated together and due to the fact that Freemason Abbey does not have any private dining rooms, the rest of the restaurant will be open to the public.

For parties over 20 guests, we require a deposit of $100.00 and a signed Agreement Form to secure your reservation.

For your convenience, we have pre-set Group Menus that offer a variety of entrées from which your guests can select. These menus are designed for value, as well as, well-timed execution from our kitchen. The prices are per person and include the entrée, and a soft beverage. Our dinner group menus also include a salad and dessert.

Also, to simplify things for you, we do not need to know the menu selections in advance. For example, if you choose our Dinner Group Menu #2, we will place a menu in front of your guests that will have the selections with a description of each menu item.

We are sorry but we do not allow any personal food or beverage items to be brought into the restaurant. This includes all celebration desserts and cakes. Special arrangements can be made ahead should you wish to bring your own dessert, in which case a $2.00 per person dessert fee will be charged.

If your guests are responsible for paying their own bill we are happy to provide separate checks. However, we ask for your patience because multiple payments take extra time at the end of the meal.

Be advised that Freemason Abbey has very limited space for standing or mingling. We require groups to be seated in the dining room at their tables and receive service from their servers. Groups are not allowed to stand or linger in walk-ways.

We allow guests to arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to their reservation to decorate the space. We do NOT allow the following decorations: linens, tablecloths, table runners, seat covers, candles, glitter or confetti.
